Are plastic pallets really worth the extra cost over wood in this heat?

I'm in the middle of a massive warehouse overhaul in Dubai South and I'm really torn about which way to go with our pallets. We've been using wooden ones forever, but the humidity and heat here are just destroying them, they warp, they splinter, and I'm constantly worried about termites and mold messing with our products. A supplier suggested we switch to plastic and showed us some options, but the upfront cost is definitely higher and I'm trying to figure out if it's actually worth it in the long run. I've been looking at some Plastic Pallets online and they seem way more durable, and I found one with three steel rods in the base that's supposed to handle heavy loads without sagging, which is exactly what we need for our warehouse operations . I keep reading that plastic pallets resist moisture and chemicals much better than wood, which sounds ideal for our climate, and they apparently last for years without needing repairs, but I'm still nervous about making the leap . Has anyone here made the switch from wood to plastic pallets in their warehouse? Did the higher initial investment actually pay off in reduced replacement costs and fewer safety issues? I'd really appreciate hearing some real experiences before I commit.
